Westminster Building Company is recruiting an experienced Site Manager / Lead Carpenter to join our growing team.
This is a Site Manager Role; however, you are also expected to be ‘hands‑on’ when required.
You will be expected to manage sites where appropriate but also work on the tools as a Carpenter / Multi‑Trade Operative when site management is not possible or required.
Our projects are nationwide, and the role involves working away during the week. We are ideally looking for a Derby‑based candidate, as our offices and yard are in Derby.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day‑to‑day site activities where applicable
- Leading small to medium refurbishment projects
- Carrying out hands‑on carpentry and multi‑trade works when required
- Supervising subcontractors and direct labour
- Maintaining high standards of quality, workmanship, and safety
- Ensuring compliance with all H&S requirements
- Coordinating materials, plant, and daily site operations
Requirements
- Time‑served Carpenter / Joiner
- Experience as a Foreman or Site Manager, but still happy working on the tools
- SMSTS or SSSTS– essential
- Strong practical knowledge of refurbishment works
- Able to work nationwide and stay away during the week
- Full UK driving licence
- Full set of Tools
