Responsible Individual (RI) – Derbyshire & Staffordshire

Amazing Things Are Happening at Bayleaf Care

Bayleaf Care is growing fast and growing with purpose.

We currently operate 6 high-quality children’s homes across Derbyshire and Staffordshire, alongside our education hub and specialist provision. We are now looking for our 4th RI to join our team that has experience with learning disabilities.

Our head office is in Burton on Trent where you will be predominantly based unless visiting the homes or working from home.

Salary: £65,000 plus £4,200 car allowance with on OFSTED bonus and occupancy bonus, which is accrued weekly. 5 out 6 of our current homes are at full capacity.

About Bayleaf Care

Bayleaf Care provides exceptional care for children and young people across the UK, especially those who have faced trauma. We use the PACE model, which creates a safe, caring environment to help children feel secure and build positive relationships.

Our approach starts with the key worker, who forms a strong, trusting bond with the child. This relationship is essential for the child’s development and continues throughout their care.

We offer personalized care, education, and treatment led by a team of trained professionals, helping children manage their emotions and behaviours in a safe, supportive environment.

There are currently 6 children’s homes open, 2 of these homes have their own school onsite. Bayleaf is expanding with more children’s homes on the horizon. We are also in the process of opening 2 leaving care homes and 3 CQC registered adult homes so are all our young people can remain in our care by transitioning into these services. In September 2026 we are also opening 2 special schools, one will be an SEMH school and the other a learning disability school

Each children’s home has their own permanent on-site therapist and a pool car.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll provide leadership, vision and operational oversight across 2-3 children’s homes

Responsible Individual for Ofsted compliance and governance
Coaching and supporting Registered Managers to deliver outstanding care
Driving quality assurance, safeguarding and continuous improvement
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team on strategy and growth
Embedding Bayleaf’s culture, values and therapeutic model
Supporting recruitment, performance and service development
Helping design future regional leadership structures

Has previous RI experience

What You’ll Get

Basic salary of £65,000 plus a car allowance of £4,200
