We are looking for a fun, enthusiastic and responsible Play Worker who can drive to join our team and help provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for children aged 3–13 years.
The role covers our Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club, so this is an ideal position for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for a varied and rewarding role.
Essential Requirement – Full UK Driving Licence
Candidates MUST hold a full, clean UK driving licence to be considered for this position.
You will be required to drive our 8-seater vehicle to safely transport children to and from school, as well as taking children on outings and school trips during the holidays.
Working Hours
During term time:
- Monday to Friday
- Breakfast Club: 7:00am–9:00am
- After School Club: 3:00pm–6:00pm
- This is a split-shift role, with a break between the morning and afternoon sessions.
During school holidays:
- Hours will vary between 7:30am and 6:00pm
- Shifts may include full days, half days or individual day shifts, depending on the rota and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children aged 3–13.
- Supervising children during breakfast club, after school club and holiday club sessions.
- Planning and leading fun, age-appropriate activities, games, crafts and play.
- Encouraging children to participate, develop confidence and have fun.
- Safely transporting children to and from school using our 8-seater vehicle.
- Taking children on trips and outings during school holidays.
- Ensuring children are supervised and cared for at all times.
- Supporting children with their individual needs and encouraging positive behaviour.
- Following all safeguarding, health and safety procedures.
- Communicating professionally with parents, carers and colleagues.
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, enthusiastic and approachable.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Has a full clean UK driving licence and willing to drive our 8 seater vehicle. Applications from candidates without a full UK driving licence will not be considered.
- Preferred level 3 childcare qualification but not essential
- Preferred current 12 hour paediatric first aid certificate but not essential
- Confident working with children aged 3–13.
- Patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with children.
- Energetic and willing to get involved in activities and play.
- Responsible and safety-conscious.
- A confident driver who is comfortable transporting children.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexible and able to work the required term-time split shifts and holiday rota.
