Chartwell Accident Repair Centre Derby

Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor

Chartwells is a prestigious Manufacturer approved accident repair centre that has been operating since 1966. We uphold the Gold Standard in quality and attention to detail, fostering a team-oriented environment with excellent staff retention.

As part of the Steer Luxury division, we are able to provide greater support and investment in individuals whilst offering the many benefits of working for a larger corporation including job security and personal development.

With the support of the team the Trainee Vehicle Damage Assessor will be required to learn how to put together damage assessments and retail assessments for work providers and customers. Having knowledge of the repair process along with the help pf manufacture’s methods, they will learn and develop to understand whet the best course of action for the customer and the business is. You will need to assess the vehicle to make sure the vehicle returns to the customer in pre accident condition if not better. Using estimating systems such as Audatex and manufacturer’s portals you will build assessment, lease with customer, and negotiate with Insurance engineers.

Duties will include but not limited to.

· Ascertaining accident circumstances

· Leasing with the customer

· Creating assessments

· Dealing with total loss vehicles

· Undertaking relevant training including ATA, Audatex and Manufacturer training.

· Authorising supplementary requests.

· Negotiating rates with none approved work providers

· Working closely with engineers whilst building positive relationships.

· Always promoting the brand

Candidate’s Requirements.

· IT Skills, with experience of using different platforms.

· Quick learner

· Knowledge of the motor trade, ideally the accident repair industry.

· Good customer service skills

· Proven track record of continuous employment within a business.

· Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
