We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at McMurtry & Harding on a part-time basis (6-month fixed-term contract).
We have practices in Ashbourne and Wirksworth offering a wide range of morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday appointments. All practices have fully equipped operating theatres, separate vet and nurse consultation rooms, in-house laboratories, and comfortable cat and dog wards to help make every pet’s stay with us as stress free as possible.
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.
You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications, and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.
Working Pattern
- 31 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Perform administrative and reception duties
- Book, cancel and amend appointments
- Receive cash and card payments
- Handle insurance claims and instalment queries
- Manage cash exchanges and end-of-day banking procedures
- Attend reception team meetings as required
- Dispense medications and prescriptions
- Keep client and patient records up to date
- Monitor clinic emails and action enquiries appropriately
