Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about catering, cooking, and food preparation to gain valuable experience in a professional environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
Help with general kitchen duties such as cleaning, sanitising surfaces, utensils, and equipment
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including peeling, chopping, and portioning
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed
Serve meals to staff or customers as required, maintaining a courteous and professional manner
Organise storage areas to ensure ingredients are kept in proper conditions and stock levels are maintained
Support catering events by setting up and clearing down serving areas

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is advantageous
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and kitchen operations
