About the Role
Bespoke Career Solutions is recruiting for a reliable and experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy warehouse operation based in Derby.
This is an ongoing role with plenty of overtime available, making it a strong opportunity if you are looking for regular work, a steady income, and the chance to develop your experience within a fast-paced industrial and logistics environment.
You will play an important part in the smooth running of the warehouse operation. Your main responsibility will be moving goods safely and efficiently around the site using a Counterbalance forklift truck. You will also support general warehouse activity, including loading, unloading, stock movement, goods in, goods out, and keeping the working area organised.
The successful candidate will be confident operating a Counterbalance FLT in a busy warehouse, able to follow instructions clearly, and committed to working safely at all times. You will need to be reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a wider warehouse and logistics team.
Duties and Responsibilities
As an FLT Driver, Forklift Operator, Warehouse Operative, Materials Handler, or Logistics Operative, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse movements and ensuring goods are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Your duties will include:
- Operating a Counterbalance forklift truck safely and confidently within a busy warehouse environment.
- Moving goods, materials, pallets, and stock around the warehouse to designated locations.
- Loading and unloading vehicles, trailers, and delivery areas where required.
- Supporting goods in and goods out processes, making sure products are moved to the correct areas efficiently.
- Transporting stock between warehouse zones, storage areas, dispatch areas, and production or packing areas where needed.
- Stacking, storing, and arranging goods safely to reduce the risk of damage, accidents, or delays.
- Checking loads before movement to ensure they are secure, stable, and suitable for transport by forklift.
- Assisting with stock control by placing goods in the correct locations and reporting any stock discrepancies or damaged items.
- Supporting the warehouse team with manual handling and general warehouse duties when forklift work is not required.
- Helping to keep the warehouse clean, tidy, organised, and free from hazards.
- Following site procedures for safe traffic movement, pedestrian awareness, speed limits, and designated forklift routes.
- Carrying out basic visual checks on the forklift truck before use and reporting any faults or maintenance concerns.
- Working closely with supervisors, warehouse operatives, drivers, and other team members to keep operations running smoothly.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety standards, company procedures, and site rules.
- Maintaining a professional and positive approach while working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required
To be considered for this vacancy, you must have:
- A current, valid Counterbalance FLT licence
- A full UK driving licence
- Previous experience operating a Counterbalance forklift truck
- Previous warehouse, logistics, distribution, or industrial experience
- Confidence moving goods safely around a busy warehouse
- Good awareness of health and safety procedures
- The ability to work accurately and follow instructions
- A reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A willingness to support general warehouse duties when required
