Full job description

East Dereham Day Nursery is open all year round, closing on Bank Holidays and 1 week between Christmas and New Year. Our opening hours are 07:30-18:00.

Your working hours would be discussed at interview.

Duties of the role will include:

To help create and develop, with other members of staff, a stimulating environment to meet the needs of the individual child, being aware of the requirements of different age groups.
To plan stimulating experiences for all children within the room and cater for all their individual stages of development.
To establish positive relationships with all members of the nursery team, children and their families.
Keep up to date with current legislation relating to working with young children.
Support your team members and maintain a happy team environment.
Take an active part in Nursery projects and special events.
To participate in regular fire drills and ensure that procedures are correctly carried out in the event of an evacuation.
To be responsible for your own learning of The Early Years Foundation Stage
To be prompt and responsible for your own timekeeping and follow our policies and procedures.
To provide a responsible and good example to children, parents and staff

We are situated in the heart of Dereham so easily accessible by car or bus. We are a busy setting; accommodating children between 6 weeks and 4.5 years. At the East Dereham Day Nursery we provide high quality childcare and pre-school education which is available to all families in our local community.

In return we can provide you with the opportunity and support to study and gain a level 3 recognised early years qualification with our dedicated training provider.

We would ideally like students who have received previous experience with preschool children and ideally have already gained a level 2 recognised early years qualification as this qualification will be a level 3, however we would be willing to take on an individual with strong desire to want to support and help children, a joy and enthusiasm to work with children, good communication skills and the right energy if they did not have a Level 2 qualification.

The East Dereham Day Nursery is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects our staff to support this commitment.

COVID-19 considerations:
Full risk assessments and covid procedures to be explained as part of the induction process

Pay: £8.00 per hour
