Creative Arts & Alternative Provision Support Worker

Established in Dereham in 2001, JDT Music Academy has spent the last 25 years transforming lives through music, creativity and inclusive learning experiences. We are proud to be one of Norfolk’s leading creative arts providers, delivering professional music and creative arts services to children, young people and adults of all ages and abilities.

We are currently looking for a fun, compassionate, confident and proactive individual with SEND experience and a passion for creative learning to support our Alternative Provision students during school term time.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of safeguarding, relationship building and creating positive, engaging learning environments for young people who may require additional emotional, behavioural or educational support.

Your Role Will Include:

Delivering engaging creative arts sessions which may include:

Music Production
DJ-ing
Gaming Design
Playing instruments and singing
Arts and crafts
Animation
Film-making
Model-making
(full training provided where required)
Providing support and delivering services to Alternative Provision students
Supporting and mentoring young people
Helping students build confidence, resilience, communication skills and positive engagement with learning
Working closely with SEND students to support both their personal development and educational journey
Maintaining a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where safeguarding and wellbeing are always prioritised
Supporting the wider JDT team as a positive, proactive and reliable team memberSafeguarding at JDT

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is central to everything we do at JDT Music Academy. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive and professional environment for all students, particularly those with additional needs or vulnerabilities. The successful applicant will be expected to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding practice and professional conduct at all times.

Important Information About The Position:

Start Date: September 2026
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 9:00am – 3:30pm
Contract Type: School Term Time Only
Additional training days during school holidays may occasionally be required
The role will initially be offered on a 6-month temporary contract, with a full review and opportunity to progress to a permanent position
This is an employed position protected under UK Employment Law
Previous SEND experience is essential
Further specialist training will be provided
The role is based at JDT Music Academy in Dereham
An Enhanced DBS Check and two professional references are required before employment commences
Successful applicants will complete mandatory training in:
Safeguarding
Health & Safety
Organisational procedures and policies
(even where previous qualifications exist)
