Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Mechanic or Apprentice Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Duties - must be experienced in the below or already completed some qualifications and be able & willing to learn on the job
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults and issues
- Servicing including timing belts
- Diagnose mechanical problems using schematics and technical manuals
- Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre replacements
- Assemble vehicle parts and systems following manufacturer specifications
- Utilise welding techniques for structural repairs or modifications
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
- Assist with equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop safety and efficiency
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
- Undertake heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or components requiring manual effort
- Other duties as required including but not restricted to fitting of body kits, wheels, coilovers, suspension
Requirements
- Proven experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, preferably as a qualified mechanic
- Strong understanding of vehicle schematics and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively and safely
- Knowledge of assembly processes related to vehicle repair or modification
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting tasks safely
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work neatly & tidily in line with expectations
