Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our customers have a positive experience, from food preparation to upselling our delicious offerings. Duties

Prepare and serve deli items, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.
Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling products when appropriate.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including equipment and utensils.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Monitor stock levels.
Follow all health and safety regulations while preparing food and serving customers.

Requirements

Previous experience in food preparation or a similar role is essential.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable.
A culinary background or interest in cooking would be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition to assist customers effectively.
Ability to work well within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Food preparation: 2 years (required)
