Due to continued growth, we are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused receptionists to join the Shipquay Hotel team. As part of our multi-award-winning team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring every guest has a memorable stay.
About the Role:
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. While previous experience as a hotel receptionist is desirable, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
Positions Available:
- Part-Time (Approximately 8-16 hours per week)
- Full-Time (Full 40 hour work week)
- Flexibility to work weekends is essential, as shifts are rotated fairly among the team.
Your Role as a Receptionist:
As a member of our front office team, you are the face of the Shipquay Hotel—the first and last impression for every guest. Your goal is to ensure each guest receives a warm welcome, a seamless check-in/check-out experience, and outstanding service throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a professional, friendly, and efficient service at the front desk.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with management to ensure accurate room allocation.
- Update and manage room packages, pricing, and availability across hotel software and selling platforms.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain clear and timely reporting to the Front Office Manager.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- A third-level qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Strong telephone communication skills.
- Excellent diplomacy and the ability to handle complaints or emergencies calmly and effectively.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Experience with hotel management software (preferred but not essential).
