Full job description

Head Bartender

Rushton Hall Hotel & Spa is one of Northamptonshire's most prestigious luxury destinations, combining outstanding hospitality, fine dining, and exceptional guest experiences within a beautiful Grade I listed country house hotel.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and charismatic Head Bartender to lead our bar team which can at times operate across 3 separate bars within the Hotel and deliver memorable service to hotel guests, spa visitors, wedding parties, and corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operation of the hotel bar.
Lead, motivate, train, and develop a team of bartenders and bar staff.
Create and maintain an exceptional guest experience at all times.
Develop cocktail menus and seasonal beverage offerings.
Ensure high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness, and compliance.
Report and support to the Restaurant Manager
Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships in conjunction with the Deputy General Manager.
Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
Ensure all licensing, health & safety, and company procedures are followed.
Support hotel events, weddings, and special functions.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience as a Head Bartender, Bar Manager, or Senior Bartender in a quality hotel, restaurant, or hospitality venue.
Excellent knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and current industry trends.
Strong leadership and team management skills is essential.
Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with stock management, rotas, and staff training.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
