About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a bright, enthusiastic, person with good interpersonal and relational skills to join the Wiltshire Police, Criminal Justice department. The role is based at Swindon with a requirement at times to work at either Melksham or Salisbury. A work vehicle can be used when available.
The primary focus of this role is to be the divisional custodian for the archiving of all crime files. Also, when required, to undertake all administrative duties in respect of files and related matters within the operational support services department, ensuring that all time scales are complied with and that both local and national file standards and targets are consistently met. Some lifting and working at height are required. Training will be provided for this role.
What you will be doing

Prioritise and manage all incoming and outgoing work while adhering to deadlines to ensure day-to-day activities are completed in a timely manner.

Review crime files submitted for filing to ensure all matters are completed and dealt with.

Ensure corresponding data is accurate and all tasks are completed before archiving and file movement (via multiple applications).

Identify and address anomalies by contacting officers or relevant departments.

Compliance with Management of Police Information (MoPI), making risk-based decisions on which paperwork to retain or destroy.
About you and your experience
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Knowledge of data management, file storage, and electronic file movement protocols.

Experience of handing confidential information.

Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Windows Software.

Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR/Data Protection/Freedom of Information (FOI) issues
