About the role
Are you an inspirational senior police leader looking for a new challenge within a highly respected force? Wiltshire Police are seeking an Assistant Chief Constable who has the executive leadership and operational skills to make a tangible impact on the future of policing in our picturesque County.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Constable, you will manage Wiltshire Police’s Local Policing, ensuring our front-line services are responsive, effective, and community focused.
You will lead our approach to neighbourhood policing, shaping how we work with communities to prevent crime, tackle antisocial behaviour and protect vulnerable people through early intervention and partnership working. You will ensure resources are focused on local priorities and strengthen collaboration with local authorities, health partners and community organisations to deliver visible, effective and community-centred policing.
You will have significant operational policing experience with a strong track record of improving front-line performance and service delivery. Your ability to lead large, complex commands while maintaining a clear focus on community outcomes will be a prevailing feature of your career to-date.
Eligibility Criteria
Individuals who previously qualified as eligible for chief officer appointments by virtue of successfully completing the senior police national assessment centre (senior PNAC) and the strategic command course (SCC).
Individuals who are currently completing or have successfully completed the ELP – stage 5 (executive leaders).
Strong and demonstrable operational policing experience, understanding the changing shape of policing and the requirements of our communities.
Experience of building effective partnerships with communities and local agencies to tackle neighbourhood crime, antisocial behaviour, vulnerability, and community concerns.
We are proud of being a truly inclusive organisation who provides fair and equal consideration to all applicants. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, nationalities, disabilities, sexual orientation, religions, or beliefs and of neuro divergence.
