Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers enjoy their experience, from food preparation to cooking, serving and catering. Your ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food safety will be essential.

Duties

Prepare food and beverages, ensuring all items are made to the highest quality standards
Serve customers with a friendly and professional attitude, providing dietary and allergen advice
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment
Prepare and cook cafe food orders efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and presentation
Adhere to food safety regulations at all times, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently
Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming environment for all visitors

Experience

ESSENTIAL
Knowledge of food safety practices – Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
Experience in food preparation or catering
Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer service
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Previous experience in a restaurant or café setting

DESIRABLE

· Experience within a cultural or charitable organisation

· Experience of using an EPOS system
