Marlborough College is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and well-qualified Psychology teacher to join the dynamic and flourishing Psychology Department. The suitable candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the vision to be creative, the passion to motivate, and the subject knowledge to challenge and inspire. The successful candidate will demonstrate a contemporary approach to the delivery of the Psychology curriculum.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a love of the subject and will possess the ability to engender this passion within pupils. They will be happy to teach topics from across the A level specification, to engage with the co-curricular programme of the Department, and to provide advice and coaching for entrance to university to study Psychology or related disciplines.
Outside of the A level cohort, the department also enjoys a presence in the Lower School via Psychology Club and through the Psychology Society meetings. Co-curricular involvement is key to the strengthening and developing of the Department and meetings prove to be extremely enjoyable.
Marlborough College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the College is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children."
