This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join our friendly team.
The role is to support the pharmacy function with the ordering, supply processing, storing and reporting of medicines, consumables, and all other stock items. You will work closely with the Pharmacy team leader to cover all branches.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive administrator used to work in a fast paced and varied environment. The ideal applicant will have a keen eye for detail, good communication skills and be comfortable with reviewing financial data and producing reports. You should be comfortable using IT systems and a willingness to learn new systems.
Experience working in the animal industry, any Pharmacy knowledge and an SQP qualification would be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.
The role is full time, 40 hours per week, working from all Larkmead Practices.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure pharmacy functions are carried out within the legal requirements of the Vet
- Medicine Regulations to include medicine storage, medicine temperature.
- monitoring, record keeping, labelling requirements, in feed and home mixer
- prescriptions.
- To provide efficient and accurate supply chain services to both internal and external
- clients.
- To order and receive into stock medicines and other items from manufacturers and
- wholesalers as appropriate.
- To ensure changes in pricing are recorded according to Larkmead procedures in an
- accurate and timely manner.
- To undertake regular stock takes across all branches (to include contents of practice
- vehicles).
- To maintain optimal stock levels for all branches and inform colleagues of any
- disruption or change.
- To measure and minimise wastage by resolving any incidences of overstocking or
- understocking and review stock levels as required.
- To work with the Pharmacy Team Leader ensuring all pharmacy administrative and
- support tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
- To adhere to policies, protocols, procedures and assist in their development where
- appropriate.
- To participate in training and development activities as required.
