Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Rugged Fibre Optics - Product Technician to join our team. This role involves the assembly, testing, and maintenance of fibre optic products designed for rugged environments. The successful candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, good mechanical knowledge, and experience with electronic and computer hardware. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within fibre optics technology and equipment repair, contributing to innovative solutions for demanding applications.
Responsibilities
- 1. Termination of various standard fiber optic termini as well new termini designs.2. Support prototype product builds, test product builds, pre-release NPI builds.3. Perform IL & RL testing of various configurations of cable assemblies.4. Perform EFG & IPC (workmanship) checks on both single & multi-fiber termini.5. Mechanical Aptitude to safely & efficiently operate equipment (E-Stop/Soft Stop, identifying issues,clearing faults and acknowledging machines states.6. Assist in the estimation process step durations.7. Assist in setting-up new manufacturing processes.8. Suggest process changes to improve overall manufacturing efficiencies.9. Communication within a team atmosphere to ensure clarity of purpose & Customer satisfaction.10. Soldering & PCBA Assembly skills for the following: Wire Harnesses, Connectors, PassiveComponents (Resistors, Capacitors, etc.), IC (Integrated Circuits).11. Use of Fiber Optic & Electronic Test Equipment: Optical Power Meters, IL/RL Test, Oscilloscope,DMM (Digital Multi Meter), Variable Power Supplies, Variable Attenuators, Optical & RF Switch.

Pay: £24,420.00-£46,848.52 per year
