Full job description

Overview
As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will report to the Service Manager and Offshore Supervisor to drive the growth and success of our business. We are seeking an individual who is skilled in organisation and is proactive in their day-to-day work.

We are looking for a proactive Offshore Diesel Fitter with a can-do attitude. You will be working in a busy and often rapidly changing environment to support our customers’ needs and therefore you will need to be flexible and work co-operatively with the Service Team to undertake engine/generator repairs and maintenance.

Whilst not the primary role of this position, candidates also with experience with diesel generators, other diesel-powered equipment and associated components would be greatly welcomed. Previous onshore-based Diesel Fitters wishing to progress to an offshore-based role will also be considered.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience with diesel generators, other diesel-powered equipment and associated components
Offshore Qualified
Proven mechanical and/or electrical fault-find capabilities

Essential Skills

Working without supervision
Excellent time management
Ability to think outside the box to problem solve
Understanding of QHSE in a similar working environment
Ability to read and understand technical drawings/schematics
Basic use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Confident liaising with customers.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Requirements

Valid right to work in the UK
Full UK Driving Licence

Key Responsibilities

Service, repair, and overhaul of diesel engines, on site, on vessels, offshore and within the workshop
Work with the Offshore Supervisor and Parts Co-Ordinator to source and procure replacement parts and accessories
Undertake diagnostic investigations to fault-find
Install and commission engines
Carry out all work in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards
Comply with company policies, procedures and training required
Ensure work area is kept tidy
Any other duty or task that may be deemed reasonable
