Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children aged 0–5 years in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children’s learning and development.
Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and achievements.
Support children’s emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development.
Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.
Ensure safeguarding and welfare requirements are always met.
Promote good behaviour and encourage independence and confidence.
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
Support children with additional needs where appropriate.
Contribute to the cleanliness, organisation, and smooth running of the setting.
Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Essential

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare.
Knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
Experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or childcare setting.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach.

Desirable

Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Experience supporting children with additional needs.
Knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.

Skills and Competencies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
Creativity and enthusiasm in delivering activities.
Strong organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
