Background
We are seeking to appoint a talented People Business Partner to join our Human Resources team, based at our Cardiff head office.
The HR team provides support across the firm’s UK offices in Cardiff, London, Southampton, Plymouth and Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Partners, Managers and colleagues to deliver high-quality HR support aligned to the firm’s strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on all aspects of people management and contributing to the development and delivery of the firm’s people strategy.
The role
The role will involve:

Leading on senior-level recruitment and talent acquisition across the firm
- Providing expert HR advice and guidance to Partners, managers and staff on a wide range of HR matters, including complex employee relations issues, performance and attendance
- Advising on and, where appropriate, leading grievance and disciplinary processes
- Supporting and leading on a range of HR projects, including HR systems, process improvements, benefits, TUPE, restructuring and wellbeing initiatives
- Supporting the Chief People Officer in the delivery of key HR initiatives, including workforce planning, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee engagement and performance management
- Analysing and interpreting HR management information to support decision-making and the development of HR strategies
- Ensuring HR policies and practices remain compliant with current employment legislation and aligned with best practice
- Providing direction and support to HR Advisors to ensure effective operational delivery of HR services
- Undertaking travel to other UK offices as required
Skills & Qualifications
The successful candidate will:

Be CIPD qualified with demonstrable, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Have experience of building effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, including Partners and senior managers
- Have led end-to-end recruitment processes across a broad range of roles
- Have significant experience of managing complex employee relations matters, including formal processes up to and including dismissal
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, advise and challenge appropriately
- Have a sound understanding of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and wellbeing initiatives
- Possess strong organisational, analytical and IT skills, ideally including experience of HR systems
