Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile General Builder to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of practical skills across various trades, enabling them to contribute effectively to diverse building projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on residential, commercial, and industrial sites, delivering high-quality craftsmanship in a professional environment.

Duties

Carry out carpentry tasks including framing, fitting, and finishing work
Perform roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance
Apply construction paint and finishes to surfaces as required
Install and repair plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards
Execute masonry work such as bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete pouring
Conduct welding tasks for structural repairs or fabrications
Handle electrical installations and troubleshooting (where qualified)
Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various construction activities
Fabricate custom components or structures as specified in project plans
Assist with site preparation, clean-up, and organisation of materials

Requirements

Proven experience in general building trades with a strong understanding of construction processes
Skills in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, fabrication, and the use of hand and power tools are highly desirable
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
Good physical fitness with the capacity to perform manual labour in different weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure quality standards are met
Valid relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., CSCS card) are preferred but not essential if experience is demonstrated
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a proactive attitude towards health and safety regulations

This role is integral to the successful completion of our building projects, requiring dedication to craftsmanship and safety at all times.

Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
