About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Solar PV Roofer to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing solar panels and mounting systems on various roof types, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Install mounting systems and solar PV panels on pitched and flat roofs.
- Safely work at height using ladders, scaffolding, and harness systems.
- Measure, mark, and prepare roof spaces to ensure correct placement and alignment of panels.
- Work closely with electricians and other team members to complete full solar PV system installations.
- Carry out weatherproofing and flashing to protect roof integrity.
- Identify and report any roof issues that may affect installation.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a roofer or working at heights (solar experience preferred but not essential).
- Comfortable and competent working on various roof types (slate, tile, flat roofs).
- CSCS card (desirable).
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork skills and a professional attitude.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
- Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience installing solar PV systems.
- Working at Height and/or Manual Handling training.
- Knowledge of mounting system brands and installation best practices.
