The Role:
Reporting to the Toolroom supervisor - The tool technician will support the production department daily, based in the toolroom. You will be servicing and cleaning injection mould tools, stripping them down for cleaning, inspecting for issues and reporting any found, reassembling the tools after servicing, and returning the tools to the production department. On occasion other responsibilities for the repair, maintenance, and calibration of tools, jigs, fixtures, and instruments may be required. You will be cleaning and servicing Injection moulding tools which requires good attention to detail and quality of workmanship that are vital to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of production tools.
- Learn how to inspect tools for wear or damage and carry out basic repairs or modifications under supervision.
- Setting up and operating standard workshop machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment.
- Follow detailed engineering drawings and specifications to ensure tooling is produced to required standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and tooling condition reports.
- Document service & repair work by completing electronic records, including photographs of issues documented.
- At times support production by completing cleans or repairs in the clean room factory.
- Assist in equipment repairs and breakdown if required.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Learn and adhere to all relevant health and safety standards and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and toolbox talks to develop understanding of continuous improvement practices.
- Attend relevant training courses and complete academic coursework associated with the apprenticeship.

On completion of the apprenticeship, you will have achieved the following qualification;
- ST0457 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeships Standard
- Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Level 3 Diploma
The final apprenticeship completion certificate will be issued on achievement of the above qualification and successful completion of end point assessment.

Pay: £22,000.00 per year
