Job Description:
We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at The Classroom in Nairn.
The Classroom is a busy, well-established venue in the heart of Nairn, just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by year-round local and visitor trade. Our food is all about quality home cooking done properly — seasonal, generous, and consistent. No gimmicks, just great ingredients handled well.
The Role:
We’re looking for a reliable, organised Sous Chef who can:
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Lead service confidently in the Head Chef’s absence.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
- Help manage rotas, prep, ordering and stock control.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards are always met.
- Support and motivate junior chefs and kitchen staff.
- Work closely with the wider management team to maintain a positive and professional kitchen culture.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in good standards, and wants to develop within a strong hospitality group.

- Base salary up to £36,000
- Achievable GP bonus of £200 per stock take (6 per year).
