Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves preparing and cooking meals, maintaining high standards of food safety, and supporting the overall operation of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, experience in food preparation, and a commitment to delivering excellent service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
Cook meals according to specified recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared safely and hygienically in compliance with food safety regulations
Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and work areas
Serve meals efficiently and courteously to customers or staff
Maintain stock levels and notify management of supplies needed
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
Assist with inventory management and storage of ingredients and supplies

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or culinary setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Friendly, reliable, and able to work as part of a team
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
