Full job description

Job Summary

Docker is seeking an experienced Café Manager to oversee daily operations at our brand new opening. We expect our new space to be a busy hospitality environment, with a high volume of coffee, pastry, bread and delicious savoury lunches being served each day!

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, giving excellent customer service as standard, and maintaining high standards across the board. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Docker team and be a pioneer of delivering excellent bread, pastry, coffee and service to the people of Kent!

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily service and operations at the Cafe
Oversee food preparation and making exceptional coffee
Manage stock and ordering, and ensure safe storage of ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations.
Implement and maintain health and safety procedures across all areas of the café.
Deliver exceptional customer service
Organise staff rotas and provide training to enhance team skills
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the café environment in accordance with hygiene standards.
Handle administrative tasks such as cash handling, reporting, and maintaining records.
Work with the general manager and wider team on ideas, social media plans and incentives to increase sales
Absolutely understand and 'get' what Docker is about, investing in and serving our community with a products we are genuinely proud of

Experience

Experience managing within a restaurant, café or hospitality setting
Strong background in food and drink preparation
Experience in managing teams within a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Barista experience or bar service background is advantageous.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate
Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving techniques, and culinary practices is essential
