Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the field of cost management and project estimation. The successful candidate will assist in preparing cost estimates, managing budgets, and supporting the overall financial control of construction projects. A keen eye for detail and a strong interest in construction economics are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets for various projects
- Support senior surveyors in analysing project costs and financial data
- Monitor project expenditure to ensure adherence to budgets
- Contribute to the preparation of tender documentation and contractual agreements
- Assist with procurement processes, including sourcing suppliers and negotiating prices
- Maintain organised records of project costs, variations, and contractual documentation
- Collaborate with project teams to identify potential cost savings and efficiencies
- Support in conducting site visits to assess progress and verify quantities
Experience
- Previous experience or internship within a quantity surveying or construction environment is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Basic understanding of cost control principles within construction projects
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop technical skills within the field of quantity surveying
- Driving to & from surveys
- Follow up with cusotmers an clients with projects
- Staying away if surveys are not local
