Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a busy hospitality setting. Prior experience in food preparation or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
Supporting the kitchen team with general cleaning duties to maintain a tidy and safe workspace.
Restocking supplies and ensuring all items are stored correctly following health and safety regulations.
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures efficiently.
Helping with the movement of goods within the kitchen area, including deliveries and stock replenishment.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies at all times.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, or culinary processes is advantageous.
Experience working in a fast-paced setting such as a restaurant or catering service will be beneficial.
Familiarity with kitchen safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred but training will be provided for those new to the industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within the hospitality sector while contributing to a professional culinary environment. Pay: £12.71 per hour
