Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our bar. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive knowledge of food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a vibrant team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising staff, managing stock levels, and maintaining a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business. Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or hospitality settings is highly desirable, along with a background in food preparation, cooking, and barista services.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the bar team to deliver outstanding service while maintaining high standards of hospitality.
Oversee food and beverage preparation, ensuring quality control across all offerings.
Manage daily operations including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in accordance with food safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards related to food production and alcohol service.
Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor team performance to foster a motivated working environment.
Assist in training new staff members in serving techniques, food safety procedures, and customer service excellence.
Handle customer enquiries or complaints promptly to uphold the establishment’s reputation.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure seamless service delivery.
Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory levels, and financial transactions.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices.
Experience in serving customers in a hospitality setting; barista experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with food safety standards and food production processes.
Background in hotel or restaurant management is preferred.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
