Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer based within the Bristol, Swindon or surrounding areas. The successful candidate will predominantly cover sites across the South West and surrounding regions, with travel further afield when required.

The Role
As a Water Hygiene Engineer, you will play a key role in helping our clients remain compliant with current legislation and industry guidance.
Working independently, you will carry out a wide variety of water hygiene tasks while representing H2O Hygiene professionally on client sites.
This is a field-based position predominantly covering Bristol, Swindon and the surrounding areas. However, due to the nationwide nature of our work, applicants must be willing and able to stay away from home for a minimum of two nights per week when required. This will not necessarily be required every week and will depend on the workload and locations of scheduled works.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out water hygiene monitoring and maintenance in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Hot and cold-water temperature monitoring
- Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) inspection and servicing
- Cold Water Storage Tank (CWST) inspections
- Hot Water Storage Vessel (HWSV) inspections
- Showerhead and outlet cleaning and disinfection
- Collection of water samples for laboratory analysis
- Cleaning and disinfection (C&D) of domestic water systems
- Accurate completion of electronic service reports using tablet-based systems
- Communicate professionally with clients and site representatives
- Escalate site issues and non-conformances to the Operations Team
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with company procedures
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Water Hygiene Engineer
- Good understanding of:
- ACoP L8
- HSG274
- Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations
- Experience carrying out cleaning and disinfection of water systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Willingness to travel and stay away for a minimum of two nights per week when required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable Skills and Experience
- TMV servicing experience
- Experience working within healthcare environments
- Plumbing or remedial experience
- Additional water hygiene qualifications or certifications
- Knowledge of closed systems and water treatment
