Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to enrich the lives of residents in our care home's specialising in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging activities tailored to residents' needs, promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall wellbeing, both group and 1-2-1. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact within a supportive environment dedicated to high-quality care.

Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying needs, including those requiring specialised dementia care.
Facilitate daily activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, gentle exercises, and social outings.
Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, respecting individual preferences and abilities.
Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ interests and capabilities, ensuring activities are personalised and meaningful.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, adjusting plans as necessary to maximise engagement and enjoyment.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity feedback for reporting purposes.
Promote a positive atmosphere that enhances residents’ quality of life through stimulating social interactions.
Plan Monthly activates, ensuring special days are planned in.
Arrange outside singers/entertainers
clear documentation using the PCS system (Training will be given)

Qualifications

Experience working in Care home or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, is essential.
Prior experience in caregiving or activities coordination within a care home setting is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills are required to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
A caring attitude with patience, empathy, and organisational skills is vital for success in this role.
Formal qualifications related to activity coordination or senior care are beneficial but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered favourably. This position offers an enriching opportunity to contribute positively to the lives of our residents while working within a dedicated team committed to compassionate care.
This position will be working across 2 care homes, one in Drayton and one in Waterlooville.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
