What’s the role?

This role is all about balance, between the necessity of trying to reduce our debt level in a way that is compatible with our company ethos.

Purpose:

We are expanding the Credit Control function of our Contact Centre due to the recent growth of the company

Experience in debt collection is desirable

Have a confident telephone manner whilst maintaining effective debt collection

Excellent adaptable communication skills both written and verbal

Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity

Manage aged debt to help achieve the team’s monthly debt recovery targets

The ability to manage a portfolio of customers to achieve the team's monthly debt recovery targets

The ability to collaborate with other departments to achieve the company’s goals

Work as part of a wider Contact Centre to help achieve the wider goals and targets of the business

The Package

Salary: 25K PA

Bonus Scheme

Hybrid office-based working hours: 9am – 5pm (2 days at home, 3 days in) from our Birmingham office

Holidays: 25 days + Bank holidays

Responsibilities

Communicating with our clients to ensure payments are made in a timely manner.

Sending regular communications to any clients who are slow at paying.

Reporting back on the state of the Debtor book and any high-risk areas that need escalating.

Working as part of a contact centre to deliver an excellent Customer Experience. Communicating with other departments to resolve problems holding up payments and ensuring we do this with the customer's interest at heart.

You will contribute to ensure the debtor book is kept in a stable position and any risk areas are highlighted promptly so that the level of bad debt is kept as low as possible.

Keeping aged debt to a minimum is an integral part of this.

Experience & Requirements

Skills:

Excellent customer communication skills

Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

A Customer-Centric mentality

You will need to be digitally savvy as you will be working across multiple systems

We work across a variety of contact channels: you should have fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal

Experience:

Experience working in a credit control team is preferable.

Experience and proficiency using basic Windows software

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £26,000.00 per year
