Full job description

Room Attendant/Housekeeping
Job Title: Room Attendant

Reports to: Accommodation Manager

Job Purpose: To clean accommodation and public areas to the required standards, following agreed procedures. Ensuring Health & Safety requirements are met & adhered to. To ensure guests are made as comfortable and welcome as possible.

Main Duties:

To report to work on time, according to the rota, in the correct uniform in a presentable state, as set out in the staff handbook.
To ensure that guest satisfaction is paramount at all times. Offer all guests, polite, courteous and friendly service, and be prepared to go out of your way to help a guest– this includes having a general knowledge of all the facilities at the Hotel.
Always conduct yourself in a professional manner with the utmost discretion at all times.
To follow the correct procedures, to ensure the smooth operation of the department, and cleanliness of the accommodation and public areas at all times.
To ensure the correct procedures are followed when using cleaning products / chemicals. Report any accidents / spillages immediately.
To ensure the service cupboards, guest water bottles and linen room are well stocked for the next session.
To assist and support the development of new team members, through on the job training.
To ensure maximum efficiency is achieved through teamwork.
To be aware of the Hotel fire procedures, and to assist as and when necessary.
To be aware of the Health & Safety Act and Fire Regulations and to comply with them as required.
To ensure all compliments / complaints are reported to Management.
To report any maintenance issues, and any accidents immediately to Management.
Any other reasonable tasks as requested by a Manager or Supervisor.
To behave with responsibility around the Hotel at all times.
Ensure all lost property is documented and returned to reception.

Suitability

Role involves some heavy lifting and working independently. Hours can vary depending on occupancy levels, candidates should be flexible and ideally available to work at short notice to cover sickness and late bookings. Must be available to work weekends including during school and public holidays.
