This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated dietitian to join our team of Renal Dietitians. The team consists of 2 Band 7 Specialist Dietitians and 3 Band 6 Senior Dietitians and a Dietetic Assistant.
The successful Dietitian will be responsible for providing a dietetic service to renal inpatients wards, outpatients clinics and haemodialysis areas including four satellite units across the region. This is a valued and integral role within the renal MDT and attendance and contribution at MDT meetings will be essential. You will also be involved in the training and supervision of dietetic students and other healthcare professionals.
The STH dietetic department consists of around 65 Dietitians, plus dietetic assistants, and admin staff across 3 hospital sites and Sheffield community. We are a friendly, supportive, and innovative department with a commitment to patient-centered care and best practice.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong clinical skills, and excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
To apply for the post you will need to be an HCPC registered Dietitian.
To provide renal dietetic services to the adult regional renal unit, using a high level of skills and knowledge as an independent practitioner. This will include providing services to inpatient wards, outpatient clinics and haemodialysis areas. Clinics will include general nephrology, home therapies, transplant and conservative care populations.
To contribute to the development and implementation of evidence based practice and the provision of specialist dietetic advice and education in the renal service.
To assist in developing, reviewing and implementing the dietetic service, providing specialist advice and education to renal services, and work with other health care professionals in the renal multidisciplinary team to provide appropriate information in a variety of clinical settings.
To provide supervision to the renal dietetic assistants, supporting the specialist dietitians in the operational management of the renal team.
To assist the dietetic management team to ensure the overall service provides high quality patient care.
