We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to support various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture, gardening, and construction activities, with the ability to operate a range of tools and machinery. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within the grounds maintenance and construction sectors. The position is paid and suitable for those eager to gain practical experience in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Assisting with landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and lawn care
Operating hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shovels to prepare sites and carry out groundwork
Using power tools and machinery including excavators, trimmers, and irrigation systems for various projects
Supporting construction activities by preparing sites, laying foundations, or installing fixtures
Maintaining equipment through basic repairs and routine servicing
Ensuring work areas are safe, clean, and organised at all times
Assisting with the installation and upkeep of irrigation systems
Supporting team members with specialised tasks requiring mechanical knowledge or horticultural expertise

Skills

Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
Familiarity with construction activities and use of hand tools or power tools
Mechanical knowledge related to machinery such as excavators or irrigation systems
Ability to operate or learn how to operate heavy machinery safely
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining work areas and equipment
Good physical fitness with the ability to carry out manual labour for extended periods
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in construction or groundskeeping is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
