Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Machinist / Lathe & Miller / Band Saw Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components. You will also handle band saw operations for material cutting, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet strict specifications. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precise metal or plastic components according to detailed drawings and specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to perform machine adjustments, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files such as SolidWorks or other CAD software, to accurately produce parts.
- Perform grinding operations to achieve tight tolerances and smooth finishes on machined parts.
- Cut raw materials using band saws with precision, ensuring proper sizing before machining processes begin.
- Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, tolerances, and material quantities necessary for production tasks.
- Assist in welding or assembly tasks when required, supporting overall manufacturing workflows.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety standards; inspect finished parts for quality assurance.
- Support plastics injection molding processes by understanding material properties and handling related tooling or assembly tasks when needed.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as lathes and milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with grinding techniques, tooling setup, and machine calibration for high-precision work.
- Knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks or similar programs for interpreting technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic mechanical repairs.
- Understanding of plastics injection molding processes is a plus but not mandatory.
- Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills; ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
- Prior experience working with assembly processes or supporting fabrication tasks is advantageous.
