Job Description:
As a Trainee Care Coordinator your job role is to ensure that our service users receive the best quality care. We are looking for caring and reliable individuals with a can-do attitude to join our friendly team.
What you will be doing:
- Medication - Assisting clients with medication is an essential part of your role. Don't worry! We will ensure you are fully train to administer medication
- Personal Care - Assisting clients with washing, bathing or cleaning themselves, getting dressed or going to the toilet
- Meal Preparation - Preparing healthy, nutritious and tasty meals. You could be asked to make a simple bite or a full meal.
- Mobility assistance - Some clients may have will require our help to get out of bed and move around the house.
- Running Errands - At times you may be asked to pick up groceries or collect medication from a pharmacy on behalf of our client.
- Light domestic cleaning - You may be asked to do some household chores such as doing the laundry or vacuuming.
- Accessing community - Some of our clients may need your help to get around. You may be asked to take them to a GP practice, to a park close by or to visit a relative.
- Companionship - A key part of the Senior Care Assistant role is to provide companionship and emotional support. It is vital to create and maintain exceptional relationships with our clients.
- Spot Checks, Assessments, and Client Reviews - Conduct regular spot checks to assess the delivery and quality of care provided to clients. Collaborate with the care team to perform thorough assessments of clients' needs and create personalized care plans. Facilitate and participate in client reviews, ensuring that care plans are regularly updated and reflective of the evolving needs of the clients.
- Training of New Staff - Act as a mentor and provide hands-on training to new care staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care. Develop and update training materials to align with industry standards and best practices. Collaborate with the training department to organize orientation sessions for new hires, emphasizing the importance of person-centered care.
- Liaison with Social Workers - Establish and maintain effective communication channels with social workers to coordinate and optimize client care. Collaborate with social workers to address any concerns, provide updates on client progress, and ensure a holistic approach to care. Attend meetings with social workers to discuss complex cases, share insights, and contribute to the development of comprehensive care strategies.
- On-Call Duties
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Senior Care Assistant (Domiciliary)
- Must have a valid driving licence and own car
- Must be available to work full-time (see working times below)
Desirable:
- Level 2 in Health & Social Care
Working Times:
Monday – Friday + Every Other Weekend: Must be available between 7am - 10pm
You will be designated to work in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Cirencester, Tewkesbury, Forest of Dean. Office Hours in Gloucester.
NOTE: This role requires you to be in the community as well as in the office.
