Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team full time within a vibrant hospitality environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to develop their skills in a professional kitchen/Bakery setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and cafe, including washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and cleaning.
- Help with the storage and organisation of food items, ensuring proper labelling and rotation.
- Support chefs during service by providing timely assistance as required.
- Clean kitchen and cafe equipment and work areas regularly to uphold health and safety regulations.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain recycling practices within the kitchen.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential.
- Basic culinary skills or knowledge of food preparation processes would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team within the hospitality sector.
- Flexibility to work various day shifts, including most weekends as required.
