Location: Cove Park, Roseneath Peninsula
Rate of pay: £13.45 per hour
14 hours per week, Monday & Friday
Cove Park is currently seeking an experienced and reliable handyperson to assist its Site Manager with the day-to-day maintenance of the Jacobs Building (a building housing offices, library, kitchen, and communal facilities for residents), the residents’ accommodation and Cove Park’s 50-acre site.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Painting and decorating (Jacobs Building and accommodation units)
· General maintenance to site and it’s features
· Building and/or maintaining furniture, fittings and fixtures
· Grounds keeping and groundwork
· Monitoring and maintaining Cove Parks biomass boiler (training provided)
· Assisting with transportation of artists and staff from the site to local destinations
· Supporting artists on site with general maintenance support, moving studio furniture, and assisting with small studio tasks when required
· Working with the Site Manager to manage planned and unplanned maintenance
· Assisting the Site Manager with larger building projects
· Assisting with event and meeting set-up
· Working with local contractors and suppliers to source materials, and organising professional maintenance work including plumbing and electrical contractors
Required
· Experience of general maintenance/DIY
· Reliability and good time keeping
· Ability to work autonomously as well as collectively and professionally as part of a small team
· Being able to problem solve and think on your feet
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Driver’s License
· Applicants live local to the peninsula or surrounding area
Desirable Skills
· Carpentry skills
· Knowledge of the local area
