Full job description

**DAIRYPERSON REQUIRED**

We are looking for a dairyperson to join our team to assist in milking our herd of 500 autumn block calving cows. We milk twice a day, with milking start times at 4am & 4pm with milking taking up to 4.5 hours at peak cow numbers. The herd is milked through a 24 point herringbone parlour with automatic cluster flush. Regular milking shifts required throughout the week and every second weekend.

During busier spells there will be opportunities for additional herd work, if desired, with possibilities of calf rearing and other dairy herd related tasks.

If required there is a possibility of accommodation with a 4 bedroom cottage available on farm.

The successful candidate(s) must be reliable, have good timekeeping, be a team player and have a calm nature around cows. Whilst previous experience is preferred it isn't essential as on the job training can be provided if someone shows the enthusiasm & willingness to learn.

Would also consider someone on a part time and/or self employed basis to potentially fit around other work commitments

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (required)
