Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Farm Worker to join our agricultural team. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of farm maintenance, cattle feeding, and animal care. This role offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in animal husbandry, and equipment maintenance within a dynamic farm environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills in agricultural operations.

Duties

Feeding cattle a TMR ration with a feeder wagon
Operating and maintaining farm machinery and power tools, including basic repairs and troubleshooting
Using hand tools for planting, pruning, and general farm upkeep
Performing heavy lifting tasks such as moving feed, equipment,
Caring for livestock by feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health
Silage and slurry
Conducting routine maintenance on farm equipment and infrastructure
Assisting with animal husbandry tasks to ensure welfare standards are met
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the farm environment

Experience

Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance tasks is preferred
Experience with equipment repair or general maintenance is beneficial but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be available
Tractor driving skills

This role offers a valuable opportunity for individuals passionate about agriculture to develop practical skills in a supportive environment. Applicants should be physically fit, motivated, and eager to learn about all aspects of farm operations.

There is a house available for this job and we would consider a part time/self employed worker.

Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
