Full job description

Wookey Hole is recruiting for an experienced and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the day-to-day housekeeping operation across the Wookey Hole Hotel and Mendip View Hot Tub Lodges.

This is a practical supervisory role responsible for ensuring guest accommodation, public areas and housekeeping facilities are consistently clean, safe, well-presented and ready within required timescales. Working closely with the Hotel & Holiday Lodges Manager and other operational teams, the role is central to delivering an excellent guest experience and maintaining the high standards expected across our hospitality operation.

The successful candidate will be an organised and motivated individual with strong housekeeping experience, excellent attention to detail and the ability to lead from the front in a fast-paced guest environment.

Key Duties Include:

Leading the daily housekeeping operation across hotel bedrooms, bathrooms, lodges, communal areas and public spaces.
Planning and allocating cleaning activity in line with arrivals, departures, occupancy levels and operational priorities.
Ensuring rooms, lodges and public areas are cleaned, presented and released within required timescales and to agreed standards.
Carrying out room inspections, addressing shortfalls promptly and maintaining accurate housekeeping records.
Supervising, motivating and supporting the housekeeping team, including permanent, casual and agency team members.
Assisting with rotas, holiday planning, induction, training and coaching.
Working closely with reception, maintenance and operational teams regarding room status, guest requests, defects and priorities.
Ensuring the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with COSHH requirements and company procedures.
Monitoring housekeeping stores, linen areas and equipment to ensure they remain organised, secure and appropriately stocked.
Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest care throughout the hotel and lodges.

Hours of Work:

35 hours per week.
Flexibility required, including weekends and bank holidays, in line with operational needs.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel, lodge, holiday accommodation or similar guest environment.
Experience of supervising, coordinating or supporting the work of others.
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to lead from the front and maintain standards in a busy operational environment.
Professional and friendly approach with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across multiple departments.
Knowledge of COSHH and housekeeping health and safety practices would be advantageous.
Full UK driving licence desirable.

£13.02 per hr (35 hr per week)
