Office and Finance Administrator (Part-Time)
(16 Hours per week – Monday to Friday)
We are seeking to recruit an Office and Finance Administrator with responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of activities in the joint charge of East, Old & Inverarity Church. Based in the Church office, this position involves a mix of media, secretarial, reception and basic book-keeping duties, supporting the Minister, Session Clerk, Treasurer and other office bearers in administrative tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Administration of Church and room lets
Ministry team assistance and Church administration
Basic financial and book-keeping tasks
Maintain presence on social media as part of team
Ensure adequate supplies of stationery, refreshments and cleaning materials
Any other tasks required within the scope of the role
Skills:
Essential:
Good working knowledge of maintaining our social media platforms with a particular focus on taking forward modernisation of the existing Church website.
Excellent IT knowledge including MS Office, Word and Excel
Working knowledge of computerised accounting packages eg. Xero or equivalent
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Good communicator, with highly developed interpersonal skills
Organised, able to balance and prioritise demands across the different areas
Experience of working with software applications - Publisher, Canva and digital diary/booking system
As this post may involve occasional interaction with children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful applicant must obtain PVG clearance and undertake mandatory Church of Scotland basic safeguarding training.
