Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work outdoors across various sites, applying practical skills in landscape maintenance and horticulture. The position is suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for outdoor work.

Duties

Conduct landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and weed control to ensure attractive and healthy outdoor spaces
Operate mechanical equipment such as excavators, power tools, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
Use hand tools for gardening, planting, and general grounds upkeep
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal functioning
Assist with construction projects related to landscaping or site development
Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Support the installation and repair of irrigation systems to promote sustainable watering practices
Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes

Experience

Prior experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable
Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems is advantageous
Familiarity with the use of hand tools and basic construction techniques is preferred
Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices in groundskeeping will be considered a plus
Previous experience working outdoors in various weather conditions is beneficial
