Spiritfilled is an established and award-winning whisky cask broker, independent bottler and warehouse owner. The Warehouse Operator is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and organised warehouse environment, while ensuring compliance with regulations and effective handling of goods. Their role is essential for supporting the smooth operation of the warehouse, ensuring accurate documentation, and fostering strong working relationships with both internal teams and external drivers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Actively promote a safe working environment by adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety incidents, including accidents and near-misses, are promptly reported to the Warehouse Manager.
- Incident Reporting & Documentation:
- Accurately record and process all breakages, damages, and incidents as per company procedures.
- Ensure all documentation related to warehouse activities is accurate, double-checked, and processed in a timely manner. Documents should be properly filed after issuance.
- Warehouse Space Optimisation:
- Consolidate and optimise warehouse space by selecting suitable locations for varying volumes, maximising available storage space.
- Assist in maintaining an organised and efficient warehouse layout to support effective workflow and space utilisation.
- Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and third-party drivers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient communication and problem-solving.
- Compliance with International Regulations:
- Ensure adherence to international shipping, customs, and excise regulations during all warehouse operations.
- Check corresponding Vapour actions as required, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Vehicle Inspection:
- Inspect vehicles for cleanliness, wind, and watertight integrity before loading. Approve or reject vehicles based on their condition.
- Ensure that vehicles are fit for loading to avoid product damage or compliance issues.
- Loading & Unloading:
- Load and unload containers and trailers safely, accurately, and efficiently, adhering to the correct load configurations.
- Ensure all loading/unloading activities follow best practices for safety and precision.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping:
- Ensure all documentation related to shipments, inventory, and warehouse activities is accurate and processed promptly.
- Verify and double-check paperwork before issuing it and ensure proper filing for future reference.
- Forklift Operations (FLT) –experience/certification preferred, but training can be given:
- Safely operate Forklift Trucks (FLTs) in compliance with company safety standards.
- Perform daily pre-checks on FLTs and ensure they are fit for service, with pre-check sheets completed and filed appropriately.
