Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Paver to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying paving materials to create durable and aesthetically pleasing surfaces for driveways, walkways, patios, and other outdoor areas. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and familiarity with various construction techniques. The Paver will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by clearing debris, excavating, and levelling ground prior to paving
- Lay pavers using appropriate techniques to ensure stability and longevity
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as trowels, compactors, and saws safely and effectively
- Mix and apply mortar or other adhesives as required for different paving materials
- Measure and cut pavers accurately to fit designated areas using fabrication tools
- Assist with site preparation including excavation, grading, and drainage setup
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain safety standards on site
- Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste appropriately
Qualifications
- Proven experience in masonry, carpentry, or related construction trades is preferred
- Knowledge of roofing, construction painting, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or fabrication is advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in paving and construction work
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting heavy materials and working in outdoor conditions
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
- Commitment to safety procedures and quality workmanship
