Job Purpose
RTC Direct is seeking a motivated and commercially driven Sales Supervisor to lead and support our sales team across the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing key customer relationships, supporting major retail accounts, and ensuring sales targets are achieved across our growing portfolio of fragrance, household, cleaning, and personal care products. Responsibilities typically include supervising sales staff, monitoring performance, coaching team members, reporting results, and helping deliver sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Supervise and support the sales team to achieve monthly and annual targets.
- Conduct regular sales meetings and performance reviews.
- Coach and develop team members to improve sales skills and customer engagement.
- Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales staff.
Account Management
- Maintain and grow relationships with major retail customers including discount, grocery, wholesale, and international accounts.
- Support negotiations on pricing, promotions, and annual trading agreements.
- Ensure excellent customer service and timely resolution of customer issues.
- Work closely with buyers to identify opportunities for new product listings.
Business Development
- Identify new customers and sales opportunities across the UK and European markets.
- Support the launch of new products and promotional campaigns.
- Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as required.
- Provide market intelligence and competitor analysis to management.
Reporting & Administration
- Produce weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Track sales performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Maintain accurate CRM and customer records.
- Work closely with purchasing, marketing, compliance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of customer orders.
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales, account management, or retail buying.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and CRM systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience selling into major UK retailers.
- FMCG, household, personal care, or fragrance industry experience.
- Knowledge of SAP Business One.
- Experience working with international customers.
