Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-precision components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in various fabrication techniques. Candidates should possess a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including milling and grinding equipment, ensuring accurate production according to specifications
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD files using SolidWorks or similar software to programme machine operations
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to minimise downtime
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist with machine adjustments, part assembly, and finishing processes
- Conduct quality inspections of finished parts, ensuring adherence to tolerances and standards
- Assist with plastics injection moulding processes when required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling modifications and improvements
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and setting machine parameters
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machines, particularly milling or grinding equipment
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks for programming and design interpretation
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling, assembly, welding, and plastics injection moulding processes
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and tooling management
- Strong understanding of basic maths for precise measurements and calculations
- Experience with quality control procedures and inspection techniques
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a manufacturing environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in machining or mechanical engineering are desirable
